Recommended History Book For October 2017 – Liberty’s First Crisis: Adams, Jefferson And The Misfits Who Saved Free Speech by Charles Slack

As our Recommended History Book for October 2017, SPPIT.org is recommending Liberty’s First Crisis: Adams, Jefferson and the Misfits Who Saved Freedom of Speech by Charles Slack.  The AudioBook version is also well done.

This is an excellent book on the U.S. government’s attempts to suppress Freedom of Speech with the Sedition Act under the President John Adams. A fascinating, yet overlooked, piece of history.
